Copyright PoliciesPhotocopies of materials may be placed on Reserve subject to copyright regulations. For purposes of copyright compliance, a full citation (author, title, publisher, date, etc.) documenting the source must accompany each article. The Reserve Desk accepts material from faculty with the understanding that the faculty member has complied with the requirements of copyright law. All photocopies submitted must be accompanied by the signed copyright compliance statement that is included on the Library’s Course Reserve Request Form, found at: http://panther.indstate.edu/circ/forms/photocopies.doc. This statement affirms that copied Reserve materials meet fair use guidelines or that the copyright holder has given permission to reproduce the material. We cannot place course packets on Reserve. We cannot place more than 10 percent of a book nor can we place more than one article from the same issue of a journal on Reserve unless the faculty member has obtained copyright permission from the copyright holder. To comply with copyright guidelines, electronic Reserves materials are only available to ISU students, staff, and faculty. Viewing these materials requires authentication as a campus user through the MyISU portal. For off-campus access, users must configure their browser proxy settings to obtain access. Instructions on how to do this may be found at http://library.indstate.edu/level1.dir/proxy_instructions.html. Copyrighted Reserve materials will be withdrawn and returned to you at the end of each semester unless you have copyright permission from the copyright holder for extended Reserve use.
